Attract your ideal client by building a strong brand

Why WordPress is the go-to web builder for small businesses

by | Jan 5, 2023

I’ll come right out and say it.

WordPress is my go-to web builder for all of my clients (small businesses in particular!) I love it for a lot of nerdy reasons that might not make sense to some, but I’m not alone.

WordPress is the web builder for 43.2% of all sites on the internet.
That’s nearly half of a couple of billion sites.

Let me give you some insight as to why.

WordPress is free

Who doesn’t love free stuff? Especially when the free stuff is a super advanced piece of software that allows for an infinite level of website customisation, integration, and usability. The reason it’s free is because it’s an open-source software developed by thousands of talented people who contribute to it freely and can be altered and improved by web developers through the use of custom plugins and features.

This means the costs for small businesses to build a website is significantly less than with other builders.

Amazing, right? There’s more.

WordPress oozes SEO

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a strategy used to get your website ranking higher on search engines. This is done in a few different ways such as content creation, website compatibility and load speeds, custom URLs etc.

WordPress has a lot of features built into it to help your SEO efforts, and dozens of other software plugins that give you an even bigger competitive edge. It can guide your writing style, analyse your SEO strategies, and allow your web developer to tinker on the back end and give you valuable insights on how your SEO strategy is performing.

With that SEO data, you can plan and adjust your SEO strategy to drive more traffic to your website and increase your conversions. It’s a no-brainer, really.

WordPress websites are flexible and can grow with you

Growth in small business can come with a lot of positive change and upgrading/expanding your website is an exciting one.
Because of its versatility and flexibility, WordPress websites can adapt with your business and become whatever you need them to be – like a digital shapeshifting genie.

For example, if you started out as a blogger but expanded into service offerings, your WordPress website will adapt. If you decide to start selling products online, your WordPress website will adapt. If you’ve decided to give up your 9 to 5 and try your hand at becoming a vlogging sensation with your winning personality, your WordPress website will adapt.

WordPress hosts enough themes and customisation to make every site feel unique

One of the biggest perks to building a WordPress website is the sheer volume of theme designs and plugins available to make every site look and feel unique.
You could spend days just shopping around and testing website design demos from different developers until you find the perfect match for your business.
Some themes are completely free to use, whilst others come in at an affordable price and with extra perks like quality support and additional features.

And as if THAT isn’t enough!

Within your website theme are different levels of customisation that allow you to shape and mould things to your vision.

Don’t like where that box is? You can change it.
Need to add your brand’s colour scheme? You can add it.
Need it to do something flashy and eye catching? You can build it.
